This is something that caught my eye a little while ago, after reading this article. Drone fishing seems to be becoming more popular these days so I decided to give it a go. I ordered myself a Splash Drone 3 Fisherman, which I heard to be the best drone for fishing. Whilst I was waiting to receive the drone I watched a lot of YouTube videos, from how to drone fish to epic drone fishing fails and I managed to learn the basics. I'll quickly go over the ways you can use a drone for fishing. The most common methods is to use a release clip which you attach to the center of your drone. You then run your fishing line through the clip and attach your bait. Once you've done this you use your drone to cast out the life and once you get a bite the pressure from the fish pulling down will release the line from the clip. Luckily, you don't have to do this with the Splash Drone 3 Fisherman as it comes with a built in payload release mechanism, which I will discuss further in just a moment. So, lets take a look at the best drones for fishing. Splash Drone 3 Auto Where it really stands out is its payload release mechanisms. The drone is able to carry a payload of up to 1.5kg, which can be release remotely by a button on the transmitter. This makes it extremely efficient as you can cast your line out and return the drone to home, using minimal amount of battery. The Drone itself is also fully waterproof and is able to land on the water, even able to film below the surface with its waterproof camera. DJI Phantom 4 Pro In terms of specifications the Phantom 4 is far superior to any of its competitors at the moment, with a 30 minute flight time, a 4k camera and a maximum range of 7km, not many other drones come remotely close. It also has a number of intelligent flight modes such as follow me, way points and point of interest. The drone is also able to automatically take off and land at the push of a button. Similarly, when the drone takes off, it stores its location and is able to return their at a push of a button, meaning if you lose site of the you can just press the return to home button. For any more information check out the Phantom 4 Website. Thanks for reading my article on the best drones for fishing, if you're interested in drone fishing definitely give it a go, it's great fun!

Hey guys, to we’re going to be taking a look at some of the best kayaks for fishing. Kayak fishing is gaining more and more traction everyday and is becoming one of the most popular methods of fishing. I can understand why, whenever I go and visit family in Florida, we usually spend a couple of days out on the water in the Kayaks. It provides such a natural battle with the fish, as your low down to the water and in a small raft; you can feel the fish pulling you along in the water. There really aren’t many other fishing experiences like it and if you haven’t tried it, I would highly recommend giving it a go. Pelican Liberty 100X Angler KayakThe first kayak I would like to talk about is the Pelican Liberty 100X Kayak, which is one of the most commonly used kayaks for fishing. This is due to its robust design that is known to last well over 10 years before needing replacing. That kind of warrants the expensive price tag as you’re not going to have to buy another kayak any time soon. The kayak is perfectly sized as it allows you to have a decent amount of equipment without being too large and heavy. The rod holders are designed to fit a rage of different rod bottoms, as well as the 8-inch storage hatch that is located behind the seat. It is made from high quality plastic that both looks great and is extremely durable. The base of the kayak is nice and wide which provides you with a nice amount of balance. Old Town Predator The next kayak is the Old Town Predator, the name is a bit of a juxtaposition, but believe me it suits. Its design is based on the classic wooden kayaks on of the 50’s with a modern twist in design and modern materials. To call it a predator is an understatement. This thing is grace on water, seriously. It is incredibly lightweight, weighing around 11kg, which is significantly less than its competition. This allows you to get around quickly and easily on the water, whilst expending minimum energy. This is very important when kayak fishing, as actually getting around on the water tires you out before you even have a catch. This leaves you absolutely shattered when you’re fighting a fish on your line and after 2 or 3 catches, you can be completely out of energy. This can also be dangerous if you need to get back to land quickly, but don’t have any gas left in the tank! There’s not much in terms of storage space, as this would weight the kayak down which would go against its design. It does how ever have for rod holes, so you can have up to 4 lines out at once. I wouldn’t recommend this though, unless you’re an experienced kayak angler. Perception Sport Prescador 12 Angler Kayak The last kayak I am going to talk about is one of my personal favourites, the Perception Sport Prescador 12 Angler, which is one of 5 models in the Prescador series. In my opinion, this is one of the most stable fishing kayaks around, it’s built for buoyancy and allows the angler to freely move around inside the kayak without fear of capsizing. The kayak is pretty wide, which gives it a decent size base and as such, the seating area is pretty large for a fishing kayak. This allows you to bring on extra equipment (and perhaps a snack or two). This kayak is fairly limited to the rods you can use, with its holes able to equip a flush mount rod. Having said that, it is pretty easy to add customisations and wouldn’t be too hard to get another hole put in more suitable for different rods. Thanks for stopping by and reading my article on the best kayaks for fishing! More content coming soon!
Check out this awesome video on the 11 biggest fish ever caught whilst on film! Some of these are monsters! Hey guys, today we’re going to be taking a look at the 5 best rods for fishing. I can’t tell you how many fishing rods I’ve gone through in my life, some amazing ones which haves stuck with me for years, and some well, lets just say they’re long gone. Having fished for so long, I understand the struggles of trying to find the right rod for both you and the fish you plan to catch! That’s why I’ve put together this little buyers guide and hopefully it will give you some solid options when you’re getting your next rod. Abu Garcia Orra SX The first rod in the list is one of my personal favourites and in my opinion the perfect rod for beginners. This is because it’s pretty affordable, so you’re able to throw it around and not worry too much about breaking it. Although it is affordable, its incredibly quality and hence, brilliant value for money. If you’re not familiar with Abu Garcia, they’re one of the worlds leading manufacturers of fishing rods and fishing accessories and are known for their superb quality. The rod is primarily made out of graphite, which provides it with a nice light weight and balanced feel, that rests in your hands nicely, without weighing you down too much. The rod is extremely sturdy and strong, which allows the angler to maintain control throughout the entire catch. Daiwa D-Shock Another one of my favourite rods, the Daiwa D-Shock, this rods’ reel its pretty complicated, so I wouldn’t recommend a beginner using it. However, if you’re an intermediate angler with experience with these types of rods, the Daiwa is perfect. Its priced reasonably expensive, on account of it being for serious anglers, however you do get what you pay for and that is a lot from this rod. The base is made from carbon fibre, with a graphite tip, which means the rod is incredibly light and strong. As such, you can use this rod to catch a multitude of fish, ranging from river trout to salt-water crap. At its’ price point, this is one of the most popular rods and it’s easy to see why! Not many of it’s competitors is able to compete with the amount of control it provides the anger, its lightweight build means you’re able to acutely battle even the smallest of fish. This is fantastic because it does not limit you to a certain type of fish. Quantum VibeOk, the last rod I am going to talk about is a rod I had for years, the Quantam Vibe. Sad story – I left mine on a bench and drove off and didn’t realise until I was an hour out of town, long story short my wife wouldn’t let me go back, sad time… Anyway enough about me, lets have a look at this fantastic rod! Aimed at the more casual angler, the rod finds the perfect balance between simplicity and a battle with the fish. I would say this is aimed at more less experienced anglers and designed to catch smaller fish than the Daiwa we just discussed. Thanks for stopping by to read what I think are the 3 best rods for fishing! Stay tuned for more awesome fishing content soon!
Check out this awesome 3 and a half hour battle with this 500lb tuna off the coast of Panama. Bloody hell, looks tiring! 1. Sutherland, ScotlandLocated in the heart of Scotland, Sutherland is a fisherman's dream. Surrounded by lush greenery and wonderful wildlife, you can enjoy all the beauties the country has to offer, sat back next to the lake waiting for a bite. This is primarily trout fishing, so make sure you bring a thick enough line as I know a few people who have come under prepared and lost a few big catches due to a broken line. You're also able to camp next to the lake and with permission a small fire is allowed, meaning you're able to eat your days catch whilst watching the sun set over beautiful Scotland. 2. Lough Corrib, Connemara, IrelandEvery fisherman should go to Lough Corrib at least once in their life during the month of May. This is peak red-fleshed Corrib trout season and the whole village goes into festival mode. It's even a public holiday in the area, meaning that schools close and everyone flocks to the waters to make the most of the abundance of fish. The scenery in the area is wonderful and the whole vibe is just fantastic. Once you've spent your day fishing you can head into the village for a well deserved pint from the local brewery and trade stories with fellow fisherman also making the most of the season. This has to be one of my favorite places to fish in the entire world! 3. Bury Hills Fishery, Suffolk Bury Hills Fishery is over 200 years old and has been a hot spot for fishermen all over the world for close to a century now. The estate itself features 4 massive lakes with a whole plethora of fish to catch! This place is perfect for veterans and novices alike, with many people finding their love for fishing at the Bury Hills. The town of Bury is a wonderful place to visit in itself and if you're planning on doing some fishing there, head into down and go to the Red Dawn pub for their home brewed pale ale. If you can't tell already I'm mad on beers... and fishing! 4. Windmill Fishery, Somerset I've been fishing here since I was a wee boy, I remember the first time I came here I was around 8 years old and my father brought me along for a 24-hour fishing session with him and one of his buddies. This is one of the best places in the UK to learn fishing, as the lakes are home to so many fish, it is very rare that you don't get a bite. There is even a lake specifically for less experienced anglers who aren't ready to face the big boys yet. One of the best things about Windmill Fisheries is the price... £7.00 or less for the whole day depending one when you go! If you don't have your own equipment you can always pop into the bait shop and hire a rod for the day for a few extra pounds. One of the best value for money fisheries in the UK, maybe even the world! 5. Kilworth Sticks Fishery, North Kilworth Ok, onto the last of the best fishing spots in the UK, Kilworth Fishery. The fishery is built up out of 5 relatively large lakes, with another planned to be coming soon. The fishery has a whole range of fish in its lake, however I would say carp is the most common here. The place is open from sun up to sun down and is the perfect spot for fishing in the summer. In the low season you cane even fish for just £1.00!
We've made it to the end of our list now! Keep and eye out for more posts coming soon and please feel free to get in touch with any questions you may have! Happy fishing friends :) |
